Unless otherwise indicated, all events are at the Senior Apartments (Ridge Drive Apartments) in St. Michael next to Highland Bank. Park in the bank parking lot next to the apartment building (“Building 1”) and enter the building by the door facing the parking lot. This is the Community Room for Building 1.

The goal of Hands Across Time is to provide opportunities for Girl Scouts and Senior Citizens to develop relationships and have fun. We do this by getting together several times within the year with the same group of Seniors. Girls can earn a patch that is available at the Girl Scout Store when they attend four events in one year.
Come join us in some fun with local Senior Citizens again this year! Activities in the past have included: BINGO, Caroling, Game Night (Card or Board), Valentine Card making, Beach Party, Luau, Costume Parade (with/trick or treating To the Seniors!), Puzzlers, May Baskets, Tea Party, Tribute to America (9/11), Crafts and more.
These events take place at the Ridge Drive/Senior Apartment buildings on Hwy 241 in St. Michael next to Highland Bank. There are two buildings, each with a community room. We plan activities in BOTH buildings on the scheduled night. We also have the opportunity to coordinate events at the St. Michael Cottages (located behind the Colonial Mall/Dairy Queen). There are two troops that adopted this location last year and are continuing to coordinate activities there this year. Due to space limitations, this is a closed group for now.
Leaders, would your troop like to host an event? The events are open to other troops in the Service Unit, however, one or two troops would act as the activity hosts. You select the theme/activity and build the fun! I will facilitate getting the event on the calendar, and can help you with ideas, suggestions, and guidelines.
This is truly a fun & rewarding activity. The residents look forward to seeing the girls! It’s great getting to know these special people and then seeing some of them out and about in the community! As you’re putting together your troop calendar of events for the year, why not add a H.A.T. event?!! Give me a call or send me an e-mail...we can work something out together.

Interested In Hosting A H.A.T. Event?
If you are interested in hosting an event, here’s what you do: · Pick a month · Call Karen to find a date and we’ll get it on the seniors’ calendar · Have your girls brainstorm for ideas/have fun planning
Here’s what I will/can do: · Coordinate the date with the Caretakers · Post the flyers (either you can create & e-mail to me or provide the details and my daughter will create) · Help with guidelines on the number of participants · Help divide the participating troops between the buildings · If I’m available/If you want, I can meet you there to help with setup or get you started.
If you’re not quite ready to host an activity, be sure to check out the website for scheduled activities. You are welcome to attend (be sure to call and register as there is limited space).
When planning an event, here are dates that DO NOT work. · First Wednesday of the month (BINGO) - Apartments · Third Monday of the month (BINGO) - Apartments & Cottages
The Community rooms are equipped with small kitchens (stove/oven, refrigerator and sink) that we an use, if we wish, during our events there.
Each building also has its own BINGO game set. When playing BINGO, we typically bring prizes—for the Seniors, anything disposable/usable (paper products, soap, toilet paper, greeting cards, stationary/stamps, candles, individual packets/single serve food/beverages, etc.)
